Work with us

Here at LiverpoolSU we employ around 120 members of staff, in both full-time positions and part-time student staff positions, for students to work earn money and gain experience alongside their studies. We recruit people to work across a wide range of departments; Student Voice, in our Community department, in our Advice Centre, in our Student Development & Activities team, as Campus Reps, Promo Staff, in the Digital Marketing Team, Reception and much more.

We also employ student placement staff who work full time within LiverpoolSU for a year, either taking a year out from their studies or once they have graduated.

Director of Involvement

The Role:

The Director of Involvement will join the Chief Executive and the Director of Marketing as the Senior Leadership Team. As our Director of Involvement you will deliver:

  • More students engaging in clubs and societies
  • A customer service driven ethos – ensuring expectations are managed & met
  • Life changing policy work that improves the lives of all students

Terms & Conditions for LiverpoolSU include:

  • Salary Grade 11 SCP 33 – 35 £39,457 - £41,590 (dependent upon experience)
  • Permanent contract
  • annualised hours based on a 35 hour week
  • flexible working – remote and home working will be considered subject to business demands
  • a 6% employer contribution to a pension scheme (NEST)

Organisational Development Manager

The Role:

This is the first position of this kind at LiverpoolSU. As our OD Manager you will:

  • Give line managers the confidence, skills and to deliver exemplary people management through guidance, policy development, coaching and training.
  • Ensure all HR paperwork is update to date and legally compliant.
  • Review and revitalise all HR policies and procedures.
  • Provide accurate, insightful, evidence based advice to the Board, Chief Executive, Managers and staff.
  • Manage a team to deliver reception functions, payroll to SLT and Executive team; Exec Assistant and Finance Assistant.
  • Take a long term view of turning LiverpoolSU into a learning organisation.

Terms & Conditions for LiverpoolSU include:

  • Salary Grade 8 SCP 24 £30,068
  • Permanent contract
  • Annualised hours based on a 35 hour week

Faculty Representation Co-ordinator

The Role:

This is an exciting time to be joining an expanding team at LiverpoolSU the University have invested in us to improve how we enable students to feedback on their course:

  • You will be designated the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET) and you will be expected to become the expert of all things representation in that faculty so LiverpoolSU knows what students are saying at Faculty, School (or Department) and Programme level.
  • You will encourage the use of our SimOn technology to ensure Course Reps are recording feedback from students.
  • You will also report regularly on activity in your Faculty and liaise with Key members of staff in the University.
  • Furthermore, you will be expected to support our academic advice team to provide front line advice and guidance.

Terms & Conditions for LiverpoolSU include:

  • Salary Grade 3 SCP 7 £18,798 per annum.
  • Permanent contract.
  • Annualised hours based on a 35 hour week.
  • Flexible working – remote and home working will be considered subject to business demands.
  • 6% employer contribution to a pension scheme (NEST).
  • 40 days’ annual leave.

Student Group Administrator

The Role:

  • The Student Group Administator (SGA) will be responsible for supporting our sporting groups and co-ordinating fixtures for our sports teams.
  • The SGA will work with the Student Activities Manager to develop a set of targets based on our strategic vision, these will include:
  • Primary responsibility for arranging BUCs fixtures with other Unions and Universities and making related arrangements around facilities, transport and officials.
  • Organising Sports team taster sessions and booking training facilities to a required budget.
  • First point of contact for student group enquiries by phone, email and in person.

Terms & Conditions for LiverpoolSU include:
  • Salary Grade 2 SCP 7 £18,798 per annum (pro-rata).
  • Fixed term, 40-week contract.
  • Annualised hours based on a 35 hour week.
  • Flexible working – remote and home working will be considered subject to business demands.
  • 6% employer contribution to a pension scheme (NEST).
  • Generous annual leave.
