What is it?
Liverpool John Moores University and University of Liverpool have been competing in the Varsity competition since 1993. It is the annual coming together of the two largest universities in Liverpool, with fixtures played at several locations around the city. Varsity is growing year on year and 2017 promises to be the biggest and best year to date!
How do I get involved?
Please see the tabs to the left hand side for info on how you can get involved in this years Varsity. We provide a free bus service on the Wednesday (the main day of fixtures) to get you from the city centre to the events. This year there is one ticketed event that you will need to book through our website - the rest you can simply turn up to and be a part of the action.
It is also never too late to join our sports clubs - it could be you representing LJMU at next years Varsity!
This year has seen the launch of #TeamLJMU. #TeamLJMU is every student at LJMU, every staff member, all of our athletes - everyone is behind us. Play your part & get involved!
What can I expect on the day?
Varsity is a key part of your student experience. There really is nothing like being in the stands surrounded by fellow LJMU supporters driving our teams on! From getting on your war paint to waving your foam finger, you really can have an impact on whether LJMU take home the glory. There's something for everyone to watch and you can expect to be warmly greeted at every fixture. There will be fixtures at IM Marsh Campus, Greenbank Sports academy, UOL City Centre Campus and UOL Wyncote playing fields.
